Some Highlights of Our History (2012–2021)
Kiev City Ballet Era
Before 2022, the company toured internationally under the name Kiev City Ballet, presenting classical repertoire across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. During this formative decade, the ensemble established a reputation for disciplined classical technique, touring resilience, and wide geographic reach.
Hungary (2012–2019)
The company’s early international activity included guest performances of The Nutcracker in Hungary, beginning in 2012 at the Szeged National Theatre. Over the following years, Hungary became a recurring touring destination. Productions such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Romeo & Juliet were presented across multiple cities, with national tours in certain seasons comprising approximately forty scheduled performances.
In 2019, Romeo & Juliet toured extensively across Hungarian venues, including Budapest and regional cultural centres, further consolidating the company’s presence in Central Europe.
Erbil, Iraq (2014)
In 2014, the company performed in Erbil as part of the programme marking the city as Arab Tourism Capital 2014. The gala programme included excerpts from Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, alongside Ukrainian choreographic works. Regional media described the evening as a significant cultural event, introducing large-scale classical ballet performance to local audiences.
Canada (2017–2019)
Between 2017 and 2019, the company toured Canada with a classical repertoire including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Romeo & Juliet. During this period, the dancers also appeared within the international concert production Salute to Vienna, performing across major concert halls in Ontario and Manitoba. These engagements reflected the company’s expanding North American presence prior to 2022.
