Our Mission Is To Bring Joy To Audiences Through Our Ballet

The Kyiv City Ballet was in Paris, preparing to perform The Nutcracker, when the full scale invasion of Ukraine began. The Company has been stranded outside Ukraine since that day.
Making the best of a horrible situation, the Company has continued touring worldwide, sharing a message of peace, hope, and resilience with enthusiastic audiences.
The Kyiv City Ballet was founded in 2012 by Ivan Kozlov, the company's current General Director. In the next years since its founding, the Kyiv City Ballet has grown and developed, performed on four continents, and built a reputation as Ukraine's finest ballet theater.
The Company's performances range from some of the world's most classic and beloved ballets (Swan Lake, The nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet) to more modern ballets, including the company's newest work, Boys From Kyiv. This exuberant work is a tribute to the spirit of ukraine and a defiant response to the Russian invasion of the Kyiv City Ballet's Homeland.
Ivan Kozlov’s work has been recognized by The New York Times, New York City Center, Sadler’s Wells, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He is a jury member of the Frankfurt International Ballet Competition and a member of the International Dance Council (CID UNESCO), actively shaping the international presence of Kyiv City Ballet.
Kyiv City Ballet’s Associate Director, Katya Kozlova, works in close artistic and organizational partnership with Founder and General Director Ivan Kozlov. Since the company’s international expansion, she has played a central role in shaping its artistic discipline, rehearsal process, touring structure, and dancer development.
An experienced ballet pedagogue and rehearsal director, Katya Kozlova combines classical ballet tradition with contemporary training methodologies, maintaining the company’s artistic integrity under demanding touring conditions. Her leadership has been instrumental in sustaining performance quality across international stages during Kyiv City Ballet’s extensive tours.
